About Us

Solitary Raven Clothing Co. was born out of a quest for t shirts with designs that were inspired by the things we love at the Raven Crew, namely rock and metal music, horror, tattoos and anything alternative. Our first designs were initially created just for us, but after some discussion we realised that it would be a bit selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so decided to make them more widely available which led to the creation of the Solitary Raven Clothing Co. brand. 

The brand takes its name from one of our favourite animals. We have a special place in our black hearts for the Raven (including several raven tattoos) with many believing that the Raven is a symbol of protection, guidance and wisdom, while others believing that they are a symbol of an omen of bad luck or death. Whatever you believe it cannot be disputed that the Raven is one of the most intelligent and beautiful creatures in the bird world. The Raven also extends into our love of all things viking and norse so it was always going to feature in our branding somewhere.

And why Solitary Raven. Well this was just us having a bit of fun whilst brainstorming. Surprisingly, Ravens are generally described as being solitary or in pairs, with the latter being most common, however during breeding and feeding this can change. So a solitary Raven can be a little unique, a little bit different, just what we like. Although did you know that a group of Ravens is often referred to as either an 'unkindness' or 'conspiracy', which we think a little unfair.

And what of our logo?. Well all good logos need a name don't they, and the Raven in our logo is affectionately known at Raven HQ as Edgar, in honour of Edgar Allan Poe the creative force behind the world famous poem The Raven. Keep an eye out for him on some of the sleeves of our t shirts.

So we don't promise our tees and hoodies will turn you into some sort of super hero, allow you to overcome obstacles or change the world . But what we do know is that you will look pretty awesome in them.
